A basic website design should look to encompass the interaction that a business is involved in when first meeting and setting up a new business customer. Let us explore the dialogue that may occur offline first and then map it back to a website design.
- A potential customer has a requirement for either a product or service that your business provides. They will find out about your business either by word of mouth(recommendation) or through some marketing initiative. However they will still want to check you out to satisfy themselves that your are the right business for them.

- Questions maybe raised as to what make your products or services different from those of your competitors.
- You maybe asked to outline a proposal for your customer to consider before the purchase.
- The potential customer may want to see samples of your work
- The potential customer will want to know your terms and conditions for trading.
The normal course of events in this scenario is that a representative from your business will meet up with the potential customer. Your representative will be prepares to answer any question and be able to provide collaborative collateral to support your businesses ability to meet the needs of the new customer. If your representative is successful then they will return with an order or the information needed to produce a quote to tender for the business.
